Traditionally, both interrupted and continuous sutures were used, based on the clinical need of the patient. However, rising healthcare costs have driven the need for efficiencies and procedures that traditionally took longer to employ are being phased out, even where clinically advisable. The StitchLock™ devices allow for the deployment of interrupted sutures at nearly the same pace as a continuous suture, allowing for a more patient and outcome focused procedure selection without incurring significant additional surgical time and cost.
How?
Using a simple locking mechanism with any commercially available suture material, the StitchLock™ device allows for quick and easy deployment of interrupted or continuous sutures. The StitchLock™ device will also indicated for use in Endoscopic and Robotic surgery settings due to its ease of use and quick deployment with conventional surgical tools.
